By acquiring, renovating and managing unwanted, “surplus to requirement “ or derelict public buildings from the local authorities Mohan Community Services will be able to provide at no cost to tax and or rate payers the following services. Because all projects will be self funding they fall under the SMART criteria.

Sensible Manageable Achievable Realistic Targets

  • Local Volunteering opportunities - it is often difficult to obtain local volunteering positions and whilst wanting to help, when the post obtained is some distance away, the time it takes to travel there and the cost of the travel can make the role unrealistic. By providing local Volunteering opportunities we overcome this problem even helping to cut down our carbon footprint
  • Employment opportunities - The work skilled work that will be needed on the renovations will provide work for local trade’s people, there will also be opportunities for full and part time care takers etc.
  • Skill training facilities - It is envisaged that local volunteers, some of which will be un-employed, will assist with the renovations, these volunteers will learn skills from the professional trades people which may help them gain employment
  • Local Involvement By using involving the Local Community we envisage creating a greater community spirit
  • Opportunities for youth involvement - The children in our society are often over looked and whilst wishing to help their opinions are ignored. The youth clubs will be run by the children themselves with parental guidance give the youngsters a real opportunity to prove their worth and gain management skills and self respect.
  • Drink. Drug, Violent free Environment - By providing local venues for 5 to 18 year olds it will assist in taking the youth off the streets provide a safe drink and drug free environment
  • Local Clubs - Often venues are inconveniently located some distance away. By using local venues the can be walked or cycled to we help reduce the carbon footprint and provide facilities to the young, old and young families that do not have their own transport.
